Their debut (The Trap, 2005) sold over 20000 copies and helped them top the French independent charts in 2006. You're Gonna Say Yeah, one of the album's highlights even made it to Guitar Hero World Tour. A marathon European tour followed, enabling HushPuppies to perfect their sound. This change is more than obvious in their sophomore effort, Silence Is Golden (2007).
Thanks to the sinewy songs Lost Organ or Moloko sound club, the first part of the album is the perfect connection with their past anthems. On the other hand, the Hushpuppies display a calmer face from the ethereal Love Bandit, the fantasizing of which works til the intro of Down down down. The triptych Fiction in the Facts, Lunatic's Song, Hot Shot is definitively marked for their unique identity, which skilfully combines melodic caresses with sonic uppercuts, while a darker final (Broken Matador) in minor chords leads us to predict that the future of this very soon major band is undoubtedly radiant. Because, if silence is golden, The Hushpuppies' noise is even more precious!
