Adoration

Formed in 2003 by Stephen Carey (formerly of Ireland's This Burning Effigy) together with vocalist John Stone (former manager of bands such as Vendemmian and Complicity),
Adoration finally recorder their long awaited first album, Sleepwalking, with Lee-Anne Burgess joining them on bass. It may have taken them a long time to complete but trust me, it was well worth the wait!

Adoration's sophisticated darkish pop blends dark waves of disintegration with beautiful layers of musical melody and sweeping orchestral textures, creating atmospheric soundscapes and deathlike lullabies. This is lush yet enchanting music for those gloomy winter nights. As Roger O'Donnell (ex-The Cure) stated, this record is "rich, dark, textural and emotive". It only takes a single listen to "Same As It Ever Was" to get hooked. So if you are a fan of The Cure, Cocteau Twins, The Chameleons, The Sisters Of Mercy and The Mission do yourself a favour and give Adoration a listen. You'll adore them :P

You can buy Sleepwalking in deluxe digipack format directly from Adoration's Myspace page. I'm currently waiting for my copy to arrive!
