The Exploding Boy were formed by Swedes Johan Sjöblom and Les Andersson in January 2006. Sharing a similar taste in music (The Cure, The Chameleons, B-Movie, Magazine, My Bloody Valentine, Shed Seven), the duo discovered that their musical ideas, visions and experiences were complementing each other perfectly and during the next two months they wrote and recorded ten songs in Lars home based studio.In the following year the band recruited more members and finally released their self-titled debut album. The Exploding Boy is a dark but melodic - kind of Interpol meets The Cure - record, especially suited for gloomy days. 2008 found the band back in the studio, working on their sophomore record. Afterglow is due for release this May, spearheaded by singles 40 Days and London.
