Black Room

Remember Lorraine? A few years ago, three Norwegians got together over a common passion for moody pop, electronic sounds and live performances, making their own musical universe. Mixing catchy melodies with influences from more beat-oriented music is their trademark, lead singer Ole, synthman Paal and guitarist Anders released a bunch of catchy tunes (Transatlantic Flight anyone?) and kept us asking for more. However, time passed without any news from the band. Until now, that is.

For reasons unknown the trio renamed themselves Black Room and finally released a record. By calling it Pop Noir, they pretty much summarize their own sound in two words. You should expect a crossover of Depeche Mode, a-ha, Duran Duran, Pet Shop Boys and New Order with more guitars added to the mix. The album is currently available on iTunes (US - UK), but if you are old school and prefer the physical version with the bonus tracks and all, you can order it from HMV Japan here. Let's just hope that it will get a proper release and we won't have to learn Japanese in order to buy it!
