Sohodolls

Sohodolls were formed in London, England, in 2003 after guitarist Toni Sailor saw Maya Von Doll performing at the Rhythm Factory in her then band and agreed to play guitar with them - leading Maya and Toni to branch off and form their own group. Fellow band member Weston Doll commands an eclectic array of synths while the rhythm section concoct rock-solid grooves beneath the anthemic melodies and rock and roll riffs. Matt Lord on Bass and Paul Stone on drums complete the lineup.

Sohodolls do humour, paranoia, rage, horniness and vulnerability in almost equal measure. Their debut Ribbed Music for a Numb Generation was released on 23th September 2007 through A&G records. It's a twelve-track trawl through an electro-tinged rock 'n' roll underworld, an album about strippers, violence, paranoia and police car chases, featuring punchy guitars, strong rhythms, a lot of synth and Maya's voice sliding over it all, sometimes purring, sometimes almost shouting. Go over to their Myspace page and check out their sound for yourself, you won't be disappointed.
